Well! Where did that year go? Here at Taylored, it’s been a busy year with many changes. We have tried to go full force into a more eco-conscious way of building our Campervans which launched the ‘ECO’ side of our conversions. This saw the redesign of all our units to reduce plastic, reduce product waste and using products chosen for their sustainability. This also saw a new collaboration with our friends at Trees For Good Causes and since October has seen plant 7 trees - a number we hope to see grow hugely next year as our customers are able to see all of the benefits of choosing our eco units.
2022 also saw 7 new members join our team, creating a brilliant dynamic. We welcomed Ollie, Jack, Sam, Neal, Andrew & Phil in the workshop as well as Becky in our office to assist Lewis with the daily administration duties. We also had a very young member join us in May, a brand new Taylor who joined our other two children as big fans of Taylored ;) Dorothea has come to a lot of our meetings and has settled into the Campervan business well!
Our collaboration with Barr Media has seen brilliant results this year. We have had Will and his team rebuild our website and create a Newsletter platform, our new Eco page and much more. We are super excited about the projects we have planned with them for 2023 and excel our website even more. Lottie’s photography has captured our Campervans beautifully and helped to change the look of our social media content to capture the lifestyle images of owning a Taylored Campervan.
This year has also seen around 100 Campervan conversions go through our workshop! The vast majority of these were Drifter Conversions, with 62 being chosen! This was followed by 8 Voyagers, 7 Expeditions and plenty of Roamers, Wayfarers and Rangers thrown in for good measure! It was a fairly even spread of Volkswagen T6s and Ford Transit Customs that took these conversions, but we also had some Trafic vans and around 5 bigger builds thrown into that mix. This year we took on 2 more trade customers who have come to us for a professional service on their vans. The Trade side of the business is something we don’t talk about but should! We welcome traders to come and see our work and chat about how we can work together.
The Adventurer Conversion was launched back in June, which is a new design that utilises lower seat boxes along the rear of the campervan. It’s a great new design that appeals to customers looking for more leg space when sleeping as the lower seat box also acts as an extended bed space.
We had display stands at two shows this year, the first was at The Motorhome Show at The Bath & West Showground with Warners Shows where we launched our brand new Eco Campervan, and the second at Westpoint Arena Exeter for the with Appletree Exhibitions where we showed this Eco Van alongside our Trade Customers Campervan. We are pleased to announce this show van has found a new home and will be building a new one in early 2023.
