Changes are afoot in the world of campervans, with big news coming from Volkswagen. They've officially stopped taking orders for their popular T6.1 Transporter vans, a favourite among many of our campervan enthusiasts here in Devon, United Kingdom.
Rumours suggest VW is gearing up for a merger with Ford, which could see Ford's Transit Custom and VW's upcoming T7 sharing the same chassis. While it's too early to say what the similarities between the two models will be, Ford has already started taking orders for their new model.
For those wondering what this means for current orders, rest assured, VW is committed to fulfilling the orders they've received before this decision. We've even got around 10 of the much-loved T6.1 vans on their way to us, in a range of specs and colours to suit all needs.
When Will The T7 Be Released?
There's a lot of anticipation around the release of the VW T7, but at this stage, we're getting mixed signals from both Ford and VW about the timeline. What we do know is that the new Ford Transit Custom is set to launch in early 2024, and we expect the T7 to follow sometime after that.
